Secrets Moxché- a luxury adults only resort
Whether it is a honeymoon, anniversary, couples trip or just an adult only escape, Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen is an excellent choice for a special vacation. I was invited to this beautiful oasis for a three night stay as a reward for being a Top Producing Travel Agent at my travel agency. It was the perfect place to celebrate my hard work and take in all the beauty this resort has to offer. If you are considering this resort for your next adult getaway, then you have come to the right place! Keep reading to see if this is the right resort for you.

Secrets Moxché is a secluded haven that offers the perfect blend of privacy and luxury. Located 5 minutes north of Playa del Carmen, you will find this upscale oasis in the gated community of Coracol. I was able to take a plus one with me and since my husband had to stay back with our boys, I invited one of my best friends to come along! This resort isn't for just couples, it is a great place for a girls (or guys) getaway as well!
This resort actually has two hotels on property- Secrets Moxché and Impressions by Secrets Moxché. Guests staying at Impressions have full access to Secrets Moxché, but Secrets Moxché guests do not have exchange privileges at Impressions.
Since every trip is an opportunity for me to expand my destination and resort knowledge, I did a full tour of Impressions by Secrets Moxché and even dined at one of the restaurants there. (I will add a full write up of Impressions soon!)
Now back to Secrets Moxché! Here are some of my favorite things about this luxury, adults only all inclusive resort:
Intimate and Luxurious Accommodations
Secrets Moxché features several different suites to choose from to fit a wide range of budgets. Each suite is designed to create a haven of intimacy and relaxation. Whether you opt for a swim-out suite, complete with a private pool, or a spacious ocean-view room, you'll find each room with spacious, modern accommodations and large private bathrooms.
What I truly love about this resort is the standard suites here are a step above the suites at other resorts. The swim out rooms definitely stand out at Secrets Moxché. There are dividers between each room, making it an impressively large private pool off of each terrace. This room is prefect for honeymooners or any couple wanting intimacy and privacy.
Pools, Pools and More Pools!
The biggest highlight of Secrets Moxché is undoubtedly the pools. The resort has 7 pools, 3 man-made cenotes and an rooftop pool exclusive to preferred club guests. The first pool you'll see as you walk through the lobby is the lagoon pool. This gorgeous area has a sandy “beach” surrounded by decking with lounge chairs, an elevated restaurant called Bamboo, and a beach bar called The Cove. Secrets Moxché is the only resort in the Riviera Maya to have a pool inspired by the beach with natural sand on the shore! This pool is quieter than some of the others- perfect for those wanting to really zone out and relax.

Walking through tropical elements of lush greenery you will find the middle pools. These pools are a tropical oasis of relaxation. I loved the hammocks in the water- the perfect way to lounge and relax.
Situated before the resort's main pool, is where you will find several man-made “cenotes." These cenotes offer respite from the busy resort and due to the high walls, offer some fantastic shade too. I found these cenotes to be the least crowded and oh so beautiful.
The main pool is located right next to the beach. This pool has a fun and lively swim up bar called Sugar Reef. This pool also serves as the activity pool. There were lots of fun things going on from water aerobics, to kayak pool races, and water volleyball. One of the best parts about this pool are the musicians that play every day in the afternoon. There were some pretty great performers that really were a nice addition to this area. I also noticed that this pool stayed pretty active and lively through the day and into the early evening.
Last but certainly not least is the Observatory Preferred Rooftop. This infinity pool offers the best views and is exclusively for Preferred Club guests only. I don't always recommend paying extra for Preferred Club, however, in this case, the Preferred Club is well worth it for this rooftop infinity pool alone. Up here, there is also food and beverage pool service, a restaurant and private elevator access to get here. In my honest professional opinion, upgrading to the Preferred Club here is worth it for sure!
Culinary Excellence
Dining at Secrets Moxché is an artful experience. The resort has a large variety of gourmet restaurants, each offering a distinct and delectable culinary journey. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing breakfast buffet. It is spectacular! Complete with a fresh smoothie station, avocado toast station, several live cooking stations for crepes, omelets, waffles, taquitos, and so much wonderful fresh fruit and pastries. The display and quality of food ranks up there with some of the best I have experienced.

*Men, make sure to pack pants and shoes other than flip-flops for the restaurants. They enforce a dress code at many of the restaurants for dinner if you want to dine inside.
Serenity at the Secrets Spa
If you have been following me for anytime, then you know that I visit the spa at every resort I stay at. I call it "Market Research" and I'm here for it! I have to say, Secrets Spa by Pevonia, is the ideal place for anyone wanting to unwind and rejuvenate. Share a soothing couples' massage, get a rejuvenating facial or embark on a journey of relaxation at the outdoor hydrotherapy, whatever treatment you choose, you will not be disappointed. I opted for a 50 minute massage and an amazing 20 minute foot massage. Both treatments were pure bliss!
Sports Bar and Speakeasy Nightclub
If you are looking for a resort that doesn't shut down at 10 pm, then this is the resort for you! There is a great sports bar called Dark Horse. I spent each evening here chatting with other colleagues and enjoyed the ambiance. This sports bar feels more like a very cool lounge. On top of having such a cool vibe, it's two stories with plush chairs and couches, a pool table and even a golf simulator upstairs. Dark Horse is open until 1 am.
Over at the theater there is nightly entertainment that rivals the likes of a Las Vegas show. With a fully staffed entertainment team, Moxché theater hosts the Cirque Deliria, Elements, Quirky, Secrets Idol and Rock Shows. I found the entertainment to be some of the best I have seen and I really enjoyed the performances!
After the shows end each night, head on over to the speakeasy night club, Gypsy. Listen to tunes played by the DJ and hit the dance floor! There's a password for entry which changes daily so make sure you know what it is! Gypsy stays open until 2 am.
